Zaslišanje: Arrows of love

Londončani, ki stojijo za imenom  Arrows of Love, so alternativna, grunge, post-punk skupina za katero stoji kreativni par Nima Teranchi in Nuha Ruby Ra. Trenutno so na turneji po izdaji zadnjega albuma PRODUCT: Your soundtrack to the impendin societal collapse. Pred jutrišnjim koncertom v seriji Level  Up smo se pogovarjali z Nimo.

Hej! Ravnokar smo v okolici Milana, v placu Bloom, kjer so igrali nekateri od naših najljubših bendov.

Kako je bila turneja do sedaj? Kakšni so koncerti? Uživate v tem?

Ja, obožujemo popotovanje po Evropi. Spoznali smo super ljudi in obiskali nekaj sijajnih krajev, kjer nismo bili še nikoli prej.

Turneja je produkt vašega zadnjega albuma PRODUCT: Your soundtrack to the impending societal collapse, ki bo v fizični obliki izšel 1. decembra.

Signal on the road smo sestavili skupaj s kalifornijskim bendom Meatbodies, razvijali pa smo jo na koncertih.

Kako to?

Nikoli!

George Formby.

Kakšno sporočilo za Radio Terminal?

Don’t give in to the bullshit. .

As I know you are in the middle of the tour right now, where did I catch you to reply my questions?

Hi, we’re just outside Milan right now – in a place called Bloom which has had some of our favourite ever bands play here.

How has it been going till now? How are the concerts? Have you been enjoying yourselves?

Yeah we’ve been love going round Europe. Met a lot of great people and visited some great places we’ve never been to before.

The tour is a product of your latest album PRODUCT: Your soundtrack to the impending societal collapse, which will be physically out on December 1st. The title is very intriguing. What is the main message behind the album?

Ha ha, that’s hard to answer. But I think I’m the physical version you can read it in the inlay.

I know this is very typical question, but we can’t go around it. How did you write the album? Who writes lyrics, who writes music?

Oh it varied totally. Different songs saw one of us take the lead musically. We always have opinions on eachothers ideas and lyrics so even if someone has an idea that the other loves we usually end up shaping what we have together. A couple of tunes came from home writing while others came either from playing as a group or even on the road. We wrote Signal on the road with a Californian band called Meatbodies and it developed at every show.
How was the experience of this album? Was a hard road to produce it or did everything go quite smoothly?

It was definitely a long road that took a lot of energy and mental resilience. Apart from the fact we’d have strong ideas that sometimes had challenges or conflicts of opinion we also had a big threat to the community of artists we lived in from the authorities – so for 4 months it actually totally paused while we got on with that fight purely.

You’re quite knows for working with different musicians for different projects? Why is that? I personally think that can bring an interesting variety to the music, do you have the same aspect?

Yes it’s been great – we’ve learnt a lot by playing with so many people cos everyone’s brought different styles and helped us see a new way of playing a certain song or something. I guess you learn about yourself more when you’re with so many people – not just the music.

Concert in Ljubljana is only a few days away, are you excited? Have you ever been here before?

Never! We can’t wait – it’s the biggest new adventure of the whole tour.
I have this cheezy standard question which I have to ask. If you could play with any musician/band, live or dead, who would that be?

George Formby.
Any message for Radio Terminal?

Don’t give in to the bullshit.
